It will enable delegates to get insights and perspectives from university libraries both nationally and internationally to advance our knowledge and support.

The conference will be hosted on the Zoom platform with the following additional online services:

Breakout Rooms – Breakout rooms allow you to split your attendees into up to 50 separate sessions. This year we will allow participants to select and enter breakout sessions as they please.

Language Interpretation – Allows you to have interpreters for different languages for translation

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The University of Johannesburg Library, in collaboration with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), will be hosting an International Conference on: RECONNECT: Embracing the changing shape of the world and how we work together.

RECONNECT: Embracing the changing shape of the world and how we work together! The new age of work is playing out to form a robust and holistic response on how we work, learn and teach. Accordingly, our responses create opportunities for transformative, growth-aligned business, employment and workplace strategies to emerge. As we are faced with rebuilding our social and worklife balance following the severe, unprecedented pandemic that impacted the world, we will explore dialogues and presentations focusing on how our disrupted perspectives are being constructed in a POST COVID-19 world. Collaboration, innovation, and flexible responses have been developed with an agile view to accelerating library models and digital technology. Join the University of Johannesburg Library’s International Conference as we connect thought leaders and like-minded colleagues who will convene to discuss “Reconnecting”. The “gig economy”, coupled with the pandemic, has triggered organisations to step into a highly reactive mode. Leadership across the business and corporate world compete to position themselves at the forefront of an ever-changing environment. This means that the future of workforce options in more fluid organisations will focus on clarifying future roles, skills, and mindsets of organisational leaders and their people through reskilling, upskilling, recruitment, and organisations’ flexibility. The increased demand for agile responses from Leadership must ensure that increased organisational fluidity and rapid workplace upskilling do not lead to greater fragmentation in an already fractured global economy. Connectivity and agile strategic collaboration are crucial in the new digital post-pandemic age!

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:

The University of Johannesburg Library announced a CALL FOR PAPERS for their

International Conference set for 17-18 May 2022. And while the full programme is yet to be finalised, plans are full steam ahead for our first Hybrid Conference since the pandemic began in 2020.

We are excited about the prospect of being together, sharing what we have learned over the last two years, and looking towards RECONNECTING after the COVID pandemic.

This event is for everyone interested in connecting with librarians and academics worldwide and learning from the COVID pandemic experience through their community lens.

The conference will focus on several areas of conversation:

  1. Beyond the web – Digital Transformation in Libraries
  2. Information Overload and Information Literacy
  3. The role of Libraries in the World of Open Access
  4. Data Management
  5. Research Excellence
  6. Collaboration with Academics in Virtual Teaching and Learning.
  7. Reconnecting:  the role of the library in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals?
  8. Innovation of Library Services
  9. RECONNECT: Leadership and Leadership Development
  10. Student usage of and connections to Libraries

TO OUR SPONSORS:

Each year, the University of Johannesburg Library solicits the library industry for financial support to assist in the costs of running such a diverse international conference. The value of hosting this international conference revolves around creating an environment (virtual or hybrid) where exhibitors and sponsors can meet prospective clients, and attendees can find insights, discover opportunities and build relationships.

We need to create immersive learning experiences and networking opportunities for online attendees to make this happen. In doing this, the UJ Library will create avenues for exhibitors and sponsors to pass across their message and showcase their offerings to attendees. This gives sponsors maximum brand awareness and reconnecting to the academic institution.

Consider the following to create real value as an exhibitor and sponsor in our virtual or hybrid space.
